About the Graduate
Kamryn Anita Parker will graduate with honors from Rufus King International High School as a member of the Class of 2026 with an unweighted GPA of 3.8.
During her time at King, Kamryn has shown dedication, leadership, and a strong commitment to excellence. She has pursued activities that challenged her academically, athletically, and personally, including ten years of gymnastics, 8 years of band; 4 of those years on advanced band, varsity track and field throughout high school, and junior varsity basketball during her freshman and sophomore years. In track and field, she served as Jump Captain in her junior and senior years, and in basketball, she was junior varsity captain as a sophomore. Each of these experiences helped shape her into a disciplined, resilient, and supportive leader who leads by example. Beyond athletics, Kamryn has also made a meaningful impact in her school community through leadership roles as a member of the National Honors Society, Girls of Color, Senior Cabinet member in Student Government, Link Crew Leader, and Restorative Circle Keeper Leader. Through these experiences, she has continued to reflect the qualities of scholarship, service, leadership, and strong character.
Her family and friends are incredibly proud of her achievements and excited to celebrate this milestone as she
steps confidently into her next chapter.
Future Plans
Kamryn will attend Howard University as a Biology major on the pre-med track and then continue to medical school after earning her bachelor’s degree. She plans to specialize in sports medicine. Her interest in sports medicine comes from the important role mobility plays in everyday life and the opportunity to help people heal and return to the activities they enjoy.
Kamryn’s long-term goal is to work as a sports medicine physician for a university or professional sports team while also giving back to underserved communities. In addition to her work in sports medicine, she hopes to provide volunteer care and educate people about maternal health, chronic conditions, and the social factors that shape health outcomes in Black communities. Kamryn also plans to use her education and professional platform to advocate for greater awareness, improved care, and stronger support systems for Black health care.
